The Application of Epoxy Paints
The application of epoxy paints can be classified in terms of primers, intermediate paints and topcoats.
As primer:
1. As the connecting coating of the substrate and the whole coating,epoxy paint can provide excellent adhesion.
2. Its excellent mechanical properties that can effectively avoid paint peeling and prevent the paint from bumping, stone striking and other damage.
3. According to the different substrates, epoxy primer has the unique role. Used for cement surface, it has role of anti-alkali and sealing. Used for steel structure, it has the function of anti-rust.
As intermediate paint:
1. Increasing the thickness of paint film, raising the durability of the paint coating and lengthening the service life.
2. Good economic efficiency. In the same service life, the cost of using matching of primer, intermediate paint and top coat is lower than only using primer and top coat.
3. Used as a connecting paint to enhance the adhesion and connection strength between primer and topcoat, especially for epoxy zinc-rich primer.
4. Enhancing the surface decorative quality. The use of intermediate paint can make the surface paint film fuller, brighter, and smoother.
5. Epoxy micaceous iron oxide intermediate has good sealing performance, especially suitable for anti-corrosion in some humid environment.
As topcoat:
Epoxy paint, as a topcoat, has high strength and good toughness, mainly providing indoor, underground and underwater corrosion protection.
1. Coal-tar epoxy resin lacquer is resistant to soil erosion and bio-erosion which is suitable for underground environment.
2. Epoxy anti-corrosive paint has properties of heat resistance, water resistance and solvent resistance, suitable for indoor equipment in humid, hot, alkaline, and solvent environments.
3. Epoxy floor paint is used in workshops, factories, supermarkets, and underground garages, with excellent properties of wear resistance, compression resistance, and slip resistance.
4. Used as floor paint in precision electronics and instrumentation factories, epoxy floor paint has good electrical insulation.
